WILDCAT SCRATCHES
• Winners of 11 straight and off to its best start since the 1969-70 season, Davidson enters 12-2 overall and 2-0 in Atlantic 10 play following a 72-68 win over Rhode Island.
• The Wildcats' current win streak is their longest since the 2013-14 season (final year in Southern Conference).
• It's also the eighth time under head coach Bob McKillop Davidson has won at least 11 consecutive in a season.
• Baylor currently holds the nation's longest win streak this season at 15. USC is second with 13 straight ahead of the Wildcats.
• Since joining the Atlantic 10, the 'Cats have won a regular season title (2015), tournament title (2018) and totaled 78 league wins (10.8 per year), while recording an average finish of 4.4 in the 14-team conference.
• Hyunjung Lee, a preseason all-conference selection, leads Davidson in scoring at 17.4 points per outing.
• Fellow starters Foster Loyer (16.4), Michael Jones (12.6) and Luka Brajkovic (12.4) are also averaging double figures for the Wildcats.
• Loyer, this week's A-10 Player of the Week, enters T-2nd nationally in 3-point field-goal percentage, shooting 51.2 percent (42-82).
• He is also 24th nationally in free-throw percentage (.891).
• Davidson's starting lineup is shooting 51.7 percent (329-636) from the floor and 44.2 percent (124-280) from 3-point range.
• The Wildcats rank among the nation's best in field-goal percentage (.500/10th), 3-point field-goal percentage (.413/2nd), 3-pointers made per game (9.8/28th), assists/turnover ratio (1.66/6th), assists per game (16.6/29th) and fewest turnovers per game (10.0/15th).
 
LAST TIME OUT
• After trailing for much of the second half, Davidson closed on a 17-6 run to get by Rhode Island, 72-68, extending its winning streak to 11 straight Saturday afternoon inside John M. Belk Arena.
• Foster Loyer paced four Wildcats in double figures with 19 points, including an 11-of-12 effort at the line to go with 5 assists. Luka Brajkovic added 17 points and 8 rebounds, while Hyunjung Lee had 16 points and Michael Jones scored 10.
• Rhode Island, which made 12 of its first 16 attempts in the second half, matched its largest lead when Malik Martin got a steal and run out to make it 62-55 with 6:48 to play. Loyer drilled a trey at the other end for Davidson sparking a 10-3 stretch to tie the score at 65-65.
• The two teams traded the lead over the next three minutes and the Wildcats went in front for good on a Jones' layup with 44 ticks remaining. Loyer connected on 3-of-4 free throws in the closing seconds following a Rhode Island personal foul and technical to put the game away.
• Makhel Mitchell led the way for the Rams with 19 points.
• The Wildcats, who entered second nationally in 3-point field-goal percentage, finished just 6-of-24 from deep but made 18 of their 23 attempts from the charity stripe.
• The opening half featured multiple spurts from both teams including a 10-0 run by the 'Cats to go up 24-19. After the Rams responded with eight unanswered of their own, the Wildcats scored five straight before going into the half deadlocked at 35-35.
 
DURING THE STREAK
• During the 'Cats' current 11-game winning streak, they are outscoring the opposition by +15.6 points, while holding them to just .416 from the floor.
• Offensively, Davidson is shooting 50.9 percent from the floor, 40.7 percent from long range and 80.9 percent at the charity stripe.
