Â
The Wildcats extended their winning streak to six games and to 17 straight at home, dating to last year. Davidson has also won 10 of its last 11.
Â
Blake Hely got the start and threw 4.1 innings, striking out seven while allowing three hits and one earned run. Peaden then covered the 4.2 innings from there and struck out six. Of the 15 batters Peaden faced, only one reached base (error).
Â
"Jacob came in and got us out of a jam," said Davidson coach Rucker Taylor. "From there, he was very efficient and able to finish, which is great during this busy stretch of games."
Â
Davidson overcame a 4-2 deficit in the third, scoring all three runs with two outs. Henry Koehler's single drove in Trevor Candelaria, and Jacob Hinderleider brought in Parker Nolan and Koehler with a double down the left field line.
Â
The Wildcats added to their lead in the fourth when Ryan Wilson doubled to left, scoring Alex Fedje-Johnson. Wilson finished the night 3-for-4.
Â
Davidson took a 2-0 lead in the first inning thanks to a Ruben Fontes sacrifice fly and a bases-loaded groundout by Nolan.
