Baseball Beats Spring Hill 7-2 in Series Opener

Gabe Levy struck out eight in eight innings, and Parker Nolan homered to lead Davidson past Spring Hill College 7-2 on the Wilson Field diamond Friday evening.
Levy (2-2) set the tone on the mound, retiring nine straight and 13 of 14 in one stretch. He allowed eight hits and two earned runs.
Nolan went deep for the second time this year, and his two-run blast to left made it 4-1 in the third inning. Nolan, Trevor Candelaria, Henry Koehler and John Hosmer all finished with two hits.
Candelaria got the Wildcats on the board with a two-RBI single in the first inning, while Hosmer (RBI-double) and Koehler (RBI-single) plated two runs in the fifth. Jacob Hinderleider had an RBI-single in the third.
Jacob Peaden came on for Levy in the ninth and struck out two to finish it.
Former Wildcat Walker Imwalle, class of 2020, homered in the second inning for Spring Hill. He's playing a graduate year for the Badgers.

The teams meet again Saturday at 5 p.m. at Wilson Field.
