DAVIDSON, N.C. – With the 2020-21 college basketball season set to start next week, Davidson has finalized its non-conference schedule, which will feature an appearance in the Maui Invitational and four contests at John M. Belk Arena.
Under the direction of head coach Bob McKillop, who is entering his 32nd season at the helm, the Wildcats will open Wednesday, Nov. 25 with a 7 p.m. home contest against High Point.
"It seems like an eternity ago when we left Brooklyn last March upon the cancellation of the A-10 Tournament," said McKillop. "With the opening of the season a week away against High Point University and their legendary coach, Tubby Smith, we are very excited about the challenges that our non-conference schedule will present. We better be ready early."
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Maui Invitational was moved to nearby Asheville, where Davidson and Texas will tip off the annual event on Nov. 30 at noon. On day two, the 'Cats will take on the winner or loser of Indiana/Providence before concluding the three-day tournament on Dec. 2.
Following a nine-day break for exams, the Wildcats will square off with former Southern Conference foe Georgia Southern (Dec. 11) prior to concluding its brief homestand against cross-county rival Charlotte (Dec. 15).
After opening league play on Dec. 18 at Rhode Island, Davidson will wrap up its non-conference slate four days later when Vanderbilt visits Belk.
