Kalinoski Joins Heat's Summer League Squad

MIAMI, Fla. — Former Davidson men's basketball standout Tyler Kalinoski has joined the Miami Heat's summer league squad, as announced Wednesday.
Kalinoski, who was also named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Year and to the NABC All-District squad, led the Wildcats to the 2015 A-10 Regular Season Crown and their first-ever at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
A senior from Overland Park, Kan., Kalinoski concluded the year ranked among A-10 leaders in scoring (16.7/5th), rebounding (5.7/20th), assists (4.1/2nd), 3-point field-goal percentage (.423/7th) and minutes played (34.8/5th), while leading the league in 3-pointers made (91) 3-pointers per game (2.8) and assist/turnover ratio (3.0).
In addition, the 6-4 shooting guard scored in double figures 28 times, hit the 20-point plateau nine times and poured in a career-high 32 points on 12-of-14 shooting, including 8 3-pointers in Davidson's win at Duquesne.
During his four-year standout career, the Wildcats posted a 95-37 overall record, 62-8 conference mark, won four regular season titles, two conference tournament crowns and appeared in four postseason tournaments, including three NCAA trips.
Kalinoski is the third Wildcat in the last three years to sign with a summer league team. Jake Cohen played with the Phoenix Suns' in 2013 and De'Mon Brooks signed with the Charlotte Hornets last season.
The HEAT begins summer league play on Saturday, July 4 in Orlando, and will play five games over the seven-day event, with a championship day being played on the final day of the league, July 10. The team will then head to Las Vegas, with their first game scheduled for Saturday, July 11. The team will play a tournament style schedule, with a champion being crowned on Monday, July 20. At a minimum, the team will play at least five games in Las Vegas.
