THE 'CATS
• The Wildcats enter this weekend's series 7-4 on the season and are currently on a two-game win streak. The 'Cats finished the four-team Davidson Tournament with victories over Presbyterian (W, 5-4) and Yale (W, 23-2).
• Davidson started the year 3-2 on the road with a win over Appalachian State and swept Michigan in a two-game series in February.
• Ben Arkin leads the squad with a .378 batting average with 37 at bats. The senior third baseman has eight runs, 14 hits and eight RBI on the year.

• The Zips enter this weekend 7-5 overall and are currently on a two-game win streak, including most recent victories over Michigan State (W, 3-1) and Michigan (W, 2-0).
• Last season, Akron finished 28-29 overall and 12-15 in conference play. The Zips were picked to finish third this season in the Mid-American Conference East Division.
• Pat Dyer (2-0), who is set to start Sunday, is coming off an 8.0-shutout inning performance to lead Akron over Michigan 2-0 last week. He held the Wolverines to five hits, while walking three and striking out two to be named MAC East Pitcher of the Week.

• The Wildcats hosted a four-team tournament this past weekend and went 2-1 overall. Davidson's two victories came from Yale (W, 23-2) and Presbyterian (W, 5-4).
• In the win over Presbyterian, Tyler Agard recorded a walk-off single to left field for the Wildcats first victory of the tournament.
• Prior to the win over the Bulldogs, the Wildcats fell to Yale 22-3 on Saturday. The two teams then faced on Sunday and picked up an impressive 23-2 victory. Nick Neitzel picked up the win as he pitched 5.0 innings, holding Yale to three hits, one run, while throwing four strike outs. Ben Arkin led the 'Cats with four runs, four hits and five RBI, while only striking out once.
