- Davidson was originally scheduled to play N.C. Central Thursday at 11 a.m., but the Eagles canceled as they were required by the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference to make up a pair of rained out conference games. Davidson was unable to find a new opponent for the Thursday game.
- The Wildcats will honor their seniors prior to the Wednesday night game.
- Picked to finish last in the Southern Conference by the league's coaches and ninth out of 10 teams by the media, Davidson is 27-14 and in second place in the SoCon at 17-5. Its 17 SoCon wins are a program record.

- Davidson is playing at Wilson Field for the first time since Apr. 17, coming off an eight-game road stretch during which it went 4-4. Davidson is 20-6 this season at Wilson Field, and 7-8 on the road.
- The Wildcats will be watching the Western Carolina-Georgia Southern series this weekend. If WCU sweeps, Davidson will need to sweep the Catamounts in its final regular season series in order to win the SoCon regular season title. If WCU wins one or two games, then Davidson must win at least two. If WCU gets swept, Davidson can clinch its second SoCon regular season title and first since 1985.

- Dating back to last season, Davidson is enjoying its most successful stretch of Southern Conference play ever, as the Wildcats have claimed a program-record 10 consecutive SoCon series (at The Citadel, 5/3-4/13; at Samford, 5/16-17/13; The Citadel, 3/14-16/14; Wofford, 3/21-23/14; Georgia Southern, 3/28-30/14; at Furman, 4/4-6/14; Samford, 4/11-12/14; UNCG, 4/17/14; at Appalachian State, 4/25-27/14; at Elon, 5/2-4/14), going 21-7 in those 28 SoCon games.
- Three Wildcats rank in the Top 10 in batting in the SoCon, as DH Ryan Lowe (.354), CF Forrest Brandt (.350) and LF Lee Miller (.350) rank sixth through eighth, respectively. Brandt leads the league in slugging percentage at .613, and he's followed by RF Nathan Becker at .595 in third. Becker (11) and Brandt (10) rank tied for second and tied for fifth, respectively in home runs. Brandt's team-best 43 RBIs rank in a tie for seventh.
- RHP Danny Mooney leads SoCon starters with a 2.29 ERA and all SoCon pitchers with a .196 opposing batting avg.
