The Eagles' Jelani Hewitt led all players with 32 points, including 21 after intermission, while going 11-of-17 from the field and making six buckets from long range. Brian Holmes and Tre Bussey also contributed double figures for Georgia Southern (11-16, 4-8 SoCon) with 11 and 10, respectively.

After Hewitt reeled off eight straight to cut the Eagles' deficit to 49-44, Sullivan and Jack Gibbs answered with consecutive treys for Davidson (15-11, 11-1 SoCon), which eventually stretched its lead to as many as 19, 87-68, with 11 points unanswered.

In addition to hitting 10 or more 3-pointers in three straight contests, the Wildcats finished with a 33-29 edge on the glass, while committing just seven turnovers.

Along with making its last 10 shots of the period, Davidson closed the first half on a 12-3 spurt capped off by a Droney layup at the buzzer to take a 45-32 advantage into the break.

Georgia Southern finished at 50 percent overall and from behind the arc, but made just 15-of-25 at the charity stripe.

Davidson will conclude its brief road swing with a 7:05 p.m. tip at The Citadel Monday evening in Charleston.
