De’Mon Brooks Named SoCon Men’s Basketball Player of the Month

DAVIDSON, N.C. – De'Mon Brooks of the Davidson men's basketball team has been named the Southern Conference Player of the Month for November, as announced by the league office Wednesday.
 
For the month, Brooks averaged 17.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per game as the Wildcats went 3-3 against a challenging non-conference schedule that included the likes of New Mexico, Vanderbilt, West Virginia and nationally-ranked Gonzaga.
 
After scoring 24 and 19 points against Emory and the Lobos, respectively, Brooks' recorded his first double-double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds at Milwaukee. The 6-7 forward also had a team-high 19 points in Davidson's win over Vanderbilt before scoring 12 points to go along with five steals against West Virginia.
 
In addition to six double-figure outings, Brooks made 88.9 percent (32-36) of his attempts at the charity stripe, while leading the club in field-goal percentage and steals.
 
After nearly a month away from home, the Wildcats will play their next three at Belk Arena beginning with an 8 p.m. ESPN3 contest against cross-county rival Charlotte Wednesday evening.
