• Davidson returns to action after six days off by resuming Southern Conference play at UNCG.
• Tonight's contest will be the Wildcats' third game in the last 15 days.
• Davidson is coming off a 75-70 home victory over Penn Dec. 29.
• Davidson has won 10 of its last 11 SoCon regular-season games, dating back to last season.
• The Wildcats are 18-7 in their last 25 games overall, dating back to last season.
• Davidson is 3-3 on the road this season, including 1-0 in conference play.
• Davidson returns seven of its top eight scorers and four starters from last season. Players who accounted for 81 percent of the team's scoring and 87 percent of the team's rebounding are back in uniform this year.
• JP Kuhlman and Jake Cohen were selected preseason All-SoCon by the league's coaches. Both players have been starters for the bulk of their careers.
• Kuhlman is 29 points away from 1,000 for his career, and Cohen is 51 points shy.
• The 'Cats, who have posted nine straight winning seasons, were picked to win the SoCon South Division in the league's Coaches and Media Polls.
• UNCG is in the midst of a 10-game losing skid and is coming off a 99-89 setback at Miami. Four of the Spartans' losses have come against teams from BCS conferences.
• UNCG is 0-3 in SoCon play, and two of the losses have come on the road. The Spartans are 1-3 at home overall.
• UNCG was picked fourth in the North in the SoCon Preseason Coaches Poll.
Series History
• Davidson leads the all-time series 21-9 and has won 10 of the last 12, but the Spartans posted a 71-64 win in the last meeting, in the first round of the 2011 SoCon Tourney.
• The series began with a 69-68 Wildcat road win in 1998.
• The 'Cats are 7-4 on the road against UNCG and 2-1 in the Greensboro Coliseum, and all 30 games in the series have come during Bob McKillop's tenure.
• Last Meeting: Trevis Simpson posted 15 points and 10 rebounds, and Davidson shot a season-low 24 percent from the field as UNCG posted a 71-64 victory over the Wildcats in the opening round of the Southern Conference Tournament in The McKenzie Arena.
• Brendan McKillop finished with 14 points to lead Davidson, and JP Kuhlman scored 11 points. De'Mon Brooks tallied nine points and 10 rebounds, and Nik Cochran had nine points and three assists.
• Brandon Evans scored 12 points for the Spartans, and Kyle Randall had 11 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
• Davidson picked a bad day to have an off shooting day. The 'Cats were 18-of-75 from the floor and 8-for-34 from 3-point range. Davidson did hit 20-of-25 free throws and had 28 offensive rebounds to stay in the contest.
• UNCG, which led tip to horn, pushed an eight-point halftime cushion to 48-35 midway through the second half on a Brian Cole triple from the top of the key. Davidson used a 9-2 run, capped by a Tom Droney layup to trim the lead to 50-44 with 7:36 remaining.
• But UNCG scored eight straight points, with six coming on three consecutive possessions, to push the margin to 14, its largest of the game. Davidson came within seven points three times in the last two minutes with the help of McKillop triples, but the Spartans made 7-of-8 free throws to seal the win.
• Last Time in Greensboro: Simpson scored 33 points off the bench, and UNCG shot 59 percent in the second half to earn a 77-69 victory.
• Kuhlman scored 19 points to lead the Wildcats, and Cohen posted 16 points and eight rebounds. Cochran scored 10 points off the bench.
• Simpson was 12-for-15 from the floor, 4-of-6 from 3-point land and 5-for-5 from the free-throw line for the Spartans. Brackett finished with 11 points and eight boards.
• The Spartans forced 19 turnovers, scoring 12 points off them in the second half, and had eight blocked shots in the game. UNCG also held the 'Cats to 39 percent shooting in the contest while shooting 48 percent, including 16-for-27 in the second frame.
• The Wildcats led 35-28 at halftime and had a 10-point cushion early in the second half. Trailing by seven, the Spartans erupted for a 20-4 run to open a 58-49 advantage with 9:50 remaining. Simpson scored nine points, while Davidson committed five turnovers during the stretch.
• The margin ballooned to 13 points before Davidson made a run late in the contest. A 6-2 run, capped by a Tom Droney layup, made the score 73-67 with 39 seconds left. But the Spartans broke out of the 'Cats' press, and Brendan McKillop was whistled for an intentional foul trying to take away the easy layup.

• By defeating Kansas 80-74 Dec. 19, the Wildcats defeated a ranked opponent for the first time since topping Wisconsin 73-56 in the 2008 NCAA Tournament.
• It was Davidson's first win over a ranked opponent in the regular season since defeating No. 15 South Carolina Jan. 12, 1974.
• It was the 'Cats' first win over a ranked opponent on the road since defeating No. 17 St. John's 88-84 Jan. 4, 1972.
• JP Kuhlman has been named to the Cousy Award watch list. The award is given annually to the nation's best point guard.
• The Wildcats rank third in the nation in team free-throw percentage (.804). Nik Cochran ranks first in the country (.943).
• Davidson has made 20 or more free throws in five games this season.
• Davidson hit all of its free throws (14-for-14) against Duke Nov. 18, for the first time since 2008 (Appalachian State, 6-for-6).
• The Wildcats have led at halftime in 10 games this season.
• Davidson did not give up a 3-pointer at UNCW Nov. 26 (0-for-3).

• Three different Wildcats have been named SoCon Player of the Week this season.
• Nik Cochran earned the honor Dec. 20, after leading Davidson with 21 points in an 80-74 win over No. 12 Kansas. College Sports Madness also named him National Mid-Major Player of the Week and SoCon Player of the Week.
• JP Kuhlman was named SoCon Player of the Week Nov. 29, after scoring 21 points to lead Davidson to a 70-67 victory at UNC Wilmington.
• Jake Cohen was named SoCon Player of the Week Dec. 6, after averaging 21 points and six boards in a pair of league wins over Wofford and Furman.
• De'Mon Brooks was named All-SoCon for the month of November by CollegeHoops.net. The sophomore has also been named to the CollegeHoops.net All-SoCon Team (Pre-league play edition).
• Chris Czerapowicz was named the College Sports Madness SoCon Player of the Week Jan. 2, after netting a career-high 23 to lead Davidson to a 75-70 victory over Penn.
Davidson Milestone Watch
• Jake Cohen is 57 blocked shots away from breaking the school record. Frank Ben-Eze needs 24 to crack the top-10.
• Cohen needs 51 points for 1,000, and 167 rebounds to crack the top-20.
• JP Kuhlman needs 29 points for 1,000.
