• Davidson opens its 104th season of basketball against Guilford in John M. Belk Arena tonight.
• The Wildcats have won 10 of their last 13 games, dating back to last season. The 'Cats topped Lenoir-Rhyne 81-44 in an exhibition game last Saturday.
• Davidson has won 19 consecutive home openers. The Wildcats' last home opening loss was a 76-59 setback against Alabama in 1991.
• The Wildcats are 4-3 in their last seven season openers and have lost the last two.
• Davidson opens the season at home for the first time since 2008, when they beat Guilford 107-83. The 'Cats opened the 2009-10 season at No. 10 Butler and the 2010-11 campaign at Penn.
• The Wildcats play three of their first four games at home.
• The 'Cats have won 26 of their last 28 against non-conference competition at Belk Arena and are 34-5 since 2003.
• Davidson returns seven of its top eight scorers and four starters from last season. Players who accounted for 81 percent of the team's scoring and 87 percent of the team's rebounding are back in uniform this year.
• JP?Kuhlman and Jake Cohen were selected preseason All-SoCon by the league's coaches. Both players have been starters for the bulk of their careers.
• Kuhlman is 184 points away from 1,000 for his career, and Cohen is 186 points shy.
• The 'Cats, who have posted nine straight winning seasons, were picked to win the SoCon South Division in the league's Coaches and Media Poll.
• Guilford is picked third in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. The Quakers posted a 16-10 record in 2010-11 and finished with a 10-6 ODAC mark.
• The Quakers are coming off of their fifth straight winning season and are led by junior guard Josh Pittman, a 2010-11 First Team All-ODAC selection.
• Guilford returns nine letter winners, including seniors Gabriel Lowder, Brad Monroe and center Justin Stafford, all of whom started at times last year.
Series History
• Davidson leads the all-time series, which began in the 1908-09 season, 33-12. The teams have played just twice since 1957.
• Last Meeting: The Wildcats won the last meeting 107-83 at Belk Arena in 2008.
• Stephen Curry tallied 29 points, 10 assists and nine steals.
• Andrew Lovedale matched a career high with 16 points to go along with five rebounds as four Wildcats scored in double figures. Brendan McKillop netted a career-high 14 points, while Bryant Barr scored 11. Max Paulhus Gosselin registered eight steals to go along with nine points.
• Clay Henson led Guilford with 21 points, and Gabriel Lowder finished with 15 points and five rebounds. Tyler Sanborn collected 11 points and 13 rebounds, and Rhett Bonner netted 13 points.
• Both teams shot over 50 percent from the field, and the Quakers hit 52 percent from long range (12-for-23).
• Turnovers were the difference as Davidson had a school record 25 steals as a team and forced 39 Guilford turnovers. The Wildcats outscored the Quakers 55-12 in points off turnovers.
Season Openers
• Davidson holds a 67-31 (.684) record in season openers. Its first win to start a year came against Guilford during the 1908-09 season, and the last was a 107-83 victory over Guilford in 2008.
• Under head coach Bob McKillop, the Wildcats hold a mark of 9-13 in season openers.
• Eight of Davidson's season-opening losses during McKillop's tenure have come at the hand of teams from either the ACC, SEC, A-10 or Big 12, and six have been against ranked opponents.

• This is the 23rd Belk Arena opener, and the Wildcats are 19-3 with an 19-game winning streak.
