DAVIDSON, N.C. –
Freshman JP Kuhlman scored 14 points to help send the Davidson seniors off with a 60-56 SoCon men's basketball victory over UNC Greensboro on Senior Night at Belk Arena Wednesday.

With the win in their final home game, the Wildcat senior class of Will Archambault, Bryant Barr, Dan Nelms and Steve Rossiter has now been a part of 100 career victories at Davidson (15-14, 10-7 SoCon).

Archambault finished with 11 points and a team-high seven rebounds, while Rossiter collected six points and six rebounds. Barr posted five points and two boards, and Nelms had two rebounds and three assists.

Kuhlman added five rebounds and five assists, while fellow rookie Jake Cohen scored 13 points. Junior Brendan McKillop tallied nine points and six assists with no turnovers.

Kendall Toney scored 16 points for UNC Greensboro (6-22, 5-12 SoCon), and Kyle Randall posted 15 points, seven boards and four steals. Brian Cole scored 14 points.

McKillop hit two huge triples in the last four minutes of the game. His first was a rainbow from the top of the key that gave the Wildcats a 56-52 lead. After Toney scored on a jumper in the paint, and Randall got a steal and a fast-break layup to even the score, McKillop knocked down a 3-pointer from the wing to put Davidson ahead 59-56 with 28 seconds left.

With just four team fouls in the half, the Wildcats played aggressive defense and fouled purposely to disrupt the Spartans' ensuing offensive possession. The 'Cats forced a contested Randall 3-pointer with the clock winding down, and Rossiter rebounded the miss with 0.9 left and was fouled. He hit the first free throw of a one-and-one to seal the win.

After starting the game with an 8-0 run and leading by as many nine in the first half, Davidson had to come back from seven-point deficit with 11:19 to play in the game. Kuhlman got fouled on a 3-pointer and made all three from the charity stripe to start the run. After Toney made a layup, Cohen, Kuhlman and Archambault hit three straight triples to give the 'Cats a 51-48 lead with 6:33 to play.

Davidson held the Spartans to 39.6 percent shooting for the game, but UNCG forced 18 Wildcat turnovers while committing only six and scored 20 points off of the Davidson miscues. The Wildcats held UNCG's leading scorer Ben Stywall to one point as the senior battled foul trouble all game long.

Game Notes: The Wildcats have now had double-digit SoCon victories in 16 seasons during Bob McKillop's tenure… Davidson honored its four seniors prior to tipoff… Barr moved into sole possession of fifth on the Davidson career 3-pointers list… Senior Dan Nelms made his first career start at Davidson.
