Wildcats Drop PFL Opener to Drake

The setback dropped the Wildcats to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in league play, while the Bulldogs picked up their first win of the season (1-3, 1-0).
After Davidson scored 2:13 into the contest on a 31-yard touchdown pass from Casey Bullock to AJ Adams to go up 7-0, Drake responded with 28 unanswered points to go in front for good.
The Wildcats made it a two-possession game late in the second quarter when Caiden Glenn hauled in his first career touchdown on a 3-yard pass to make it 28-14.
Drake, which finished with 621 total yards (392 passing, 229 rushing), all but put the game out of reach with 5:36 left in the third quarter when running back Adrien Robbins got free from 62 yards out to make it 45-20.
Bullock, the reigning PFL Offensive Player of the Week, finished 28-of-44 passing for 345 yards, five touchdowns and one interception.
Jacary Lightsey and Adams led the way for the Wildcats. Lightsey caught 10 passes for 170 yards, including a 5-yard touchdown, while Adams had three receptions for 59 yards and two scores, also including a 4-yard touchdown. Andrew Frazier caught six passes for 57 yards, and Brodey Berg caught a 4-yard touchdown pass with 5:48 to play.

After five straight home games to open the season, the Wildcats will hit the road the next two weeks, beginning with next Saturday's PFL visit to San Diego.
