- Davidson will continue its five-game homestand to start the 2026 season Saturday evening when in-state foe Elon comes to town for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
- The Wildcats enter the first official weekend of the college football season 0-1 following a "Week 0" setback to Concord, 41-35.
- Despite the loss, quarterback Casey Bullock finished 29-of-54 passing for 241 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. He also led the Wildcats' ground attack with 81 yards on 14 carries in his first career start.
- In addition, Davidson's point total was its second highest in a game since Saj Thakkar took over as head coach a year ago.
- Davidson's current five-game homestand is its longest in program history.
- Saturday's meeting will be the 21st all-time between Davidson and Elon.
- The Wildcats lead the all-time series, 16-4, dating back to the series inception in 1921.
- The 'Cats won the first 16 matchups, but have fallen in the last four, including a 55-7 loss at Elon a year ago.

- In a game delayed two hours due severe weather, the Phoenix finished with 547 total yards, including 289 on the ground. In addition, Elon limited Davidson to just 158 yards.
- The Wildcats' lone score came on a 25-yard pass from Coulter Cleland to fellow senior Ivan Hoyt, capping a 9-play, 62-yard drive early in the third quarter.
- Landyn Backey was on the other end of five Clark passes for 118 receiving yards and two scores.
- Despite the loss, Robert Lamar and Tre Johnson put together strong efforts on the defensive side of the ball with 14 and 12 tackles, respectively.

- Davidson's potential game-winning drive ended just outside the red zone in a 41-35 season-opening loss to Concord University last Thursday night on Field 76 at Davidson College Stadium.

- Davidson took a 7-0 lead midway through the first quarter when Jordan Mays blocked a punt and Hudson Altenburg fell on it in the end zone. Bullock threw all three of his touchdowns in the second quarter, first hitting tight end Jack Perozek for a 3-yard score and a 14-7 lead. His 9-yard scoring pass to Lightsey broke a 14-14 tie, and his 11-yard strike to Alani Ajigbotosho on fourth down tied it at 28-all 53 ticks before the intermission.
- Concord scored 13 unanswered points in the second half before Bullock's scoring run cut into it, and after the Wildcats defense forced a punt, Davidson set its sights on a potential winning drive from its own 24 with 5:08 to play. Two fourth-down conversions kept the march alive until the final minute, but ultimately, Davidson's hopes were dashed on a failed fourth-and-4 incompletion from the Concord 22.
- Ryan Bassani and Danzel Chukwuemeka each had a team-high seven tackles.
