'Cats Win at Ohio, Complete 2-0 Weekend

ATHENS, Ohio — Lourdes Wolf and Matilda Collins scored early in the second half and led the Davidson field hockey team to a 2-1 win over Ohio Sunday afternoon.
The win completed a 2-0 weekend for the Wildcats, who improved to 4-3 with their third victory in the last four games.
After the teams played to a scoreless first half, Wolf scored from the left off an Eva van der Kooi pass to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead at the 11:32 mark of the third quarter. It was her team-leading fifth goal of the season.
Two minutes and 21 seconds later, Collins made it 2-0 by converting a penalty stroke for the second straight game and earning her third goal of the weekend.
The Wildcats had a 15-4 shots advantage and a 9-2 lead in shots-on-goal, but the Bobcats (2-3) got within a goal late when Ava Florence scored with 1:25 remaining.

The Wildcats will begin Atlantic 10 Conference play at Richmond on Friday, Sept. 18.
