In all, five Wildcats earn A10 field hockey postseason awards
WASHINGTON — Having combined for 50 points this season, Davidson's Matilda Collins and Lourdes Wolf have earned Atlantic 10 First Team honors to highlight the Wildcats' haul of postseason awards, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.
In all, five Wildcats were recognized, as Ava Perkins earned a spot on the Second Team and joined Maia Macaloney and Ise Adams on the All-Rookie Team.
"I'm so proud of this team and the Wildcats who were honored this season," said coach Zoe Almquist. "Matilda has been a steady on-field leader for us, holding down the backfield and making an impact on scoring, too. Lourdes is a hungry and fiery forward and has improved so much just from last year. I'm absolutely thrilled for Ava, and the heart and tenacity with which she plays showed through this season. With our three All-Rookie selections in Ise, Ava, and Maia, I know the future of Davidson field hockey is bright!"
The First Team selection is the fourth A10 honor for Collins, a senior back from Willingdon, England. A four-year starter, she previously earned Second Team (2) and All-Rookie selections. This year, along with her defensive duties anchoring the back line, she's doubled her career scoring numbers, netting 11 goals and adding three assists to tie Wolf for the team lead in points (25), which ranks fifth in the A10. She was A10 Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 12 after scoring the overtime game-winner against La Salle.
A sophomore from Hamburg, Germany, Wolf has secured her second straight First Team selection after also being on the All-Rookie Team a year ago. She has a team-leading 12 goals, a year after scoring five, and ranks third in the league in scoring. She's posted four two-goal games, including in the regular season finale against Lock Haven.
Perkins, a freshman back from Cary, has started throughout her debut season, missing one game with an injury. The team leader with eight assists, which ranks fifth in the A10, she's served as the Wildcats' primary inserter on attacking penalty corners. She scored goals in back-to-back contests against Richmond and Bellarmine, which earned her A10 Rookie of the Week honors on Sept. 21.
A freshman midfielder from Goirle, Netherlands, Adams has played in all 19 games, starting 18, and is tied with Perkins for fourth on the team with 12 points. She's totaled three goals and six assists and was named A10 Rookie of the Week on Monday after scoring two goals in a three-minute span early in Friday's 7-1 win over Lock Haven.
A midfielder from Glasgow, Scotland, Macaloney has started all 19 games in her redshirt freshman season after missing all of 2025 with an injury. She's contributed one goal and two assists.
The Wildcats open play at the A10 Tournament on Thursday when they face top-seeded Saint Joseph's at 11 a.m.
