The win secured a fourth straight Atlantic 10 Conference series victory for the Wildcats, who improved to 20-16 overall and 11-6 in league play. Against A-10 competition, they've now won seven straight games and nine of their last 10.
Saint Louis (15-24) fell to 6-11 in the league.
Davidson led 7-2 entering the seventh, then turned the game into a rout by scoring nine runs on six hits and an error. Matt Manjooran and Edwards hit back-to-back solo homers to start the inning before Jamie Daly hit a three-run shot, his team-leading seventh of the season. Edwards then took his season total to six by hitting a second solo blast with two outs.
Daly finished with a season-high five RBIs, and Brendan Fritch's two-RBI triple in the second inning got the Wildcats going.
On the mound, lefty starter Cooper Cavanaugh earned his fourth straight win. In five innings, he matched his season-high of eight strikeouts, while allowing four hits and two earned runs.
Brycen Champey kept the Billikens quiet from there, throwing the final four innings. He allowed three hits and one earned run, while striking out three and notching the save.

The series finale is Sunday at 1 p.m. (ET), and the Wildcats will be seeking their second straight A-10 sweep (St. Bonaventure).
