CHARLESTON, S.C. — Utah State's MJ Collins Jr. scored a career-best and Charleston Classic record 40 points to lead the Aggies past Davidson 94-60 in the Lowcountry Bracket final late Sunday night at TD Arena.
With their first loss of 2025, the Wildcats fell to 5-1, while Utah State remained unbeaten (6-0).
Hunter Adam and Roberts Blums scored 14 apiece to lead Davidson, and it's a new career-high for Blums, who scored 13 in the first half.
With Davidson trailing 15-5 early, Blums gave the Wildcats a spark and scored eight straight points as they crafted a 12-5 run to trim the deficit to 18-17. But Utah State responded with a 12-0 run of its own, with the aid of four Wildcats turnovers, to regain control.
The Aggies, who led 48-30 at the intermission, scored the final 12 points of the first half and the first six of the second, and that 18-0 run extended their lead past the 20-mark mark, where it remained the rest of the way.
Utah State, which turned 19 Davidson turnovers into 25 points, shot 73.1 percent in the second half (19-of-26) and pushed its lead to 37.
Josh Scovens and Sam Brown added nine points apiece for Davidson.
