Anderson Homers Twice in Loss at Dayton

It's the first two-home run game of Anderson's career, and he joined Eli Putnam as the lone Wildcat to hit two in a game this season. Putnam has done it twice this month, including at Winthrop and against N.C. A&T.
Anderson entered the game in the fifth as pinch hitter and hit a two-run homer to right in the seventh, cutting the Flyers' lead to 8-3. Then in the eighth, he hit a three-run blast, also to right, to cut it to 8-6 and take his season home run total to four.
The Wildcats' first run came in the fifth, with Dayton leading 5-0. Making his Davidson debut after an injury, Chris Schuchart doubled for his first Wildcat hit. He then scored on Joe Haney's double.
Davidson also threatened in the ninth, getting Tyler Douglas (single) and Jacob Friend (hit-by-pitch) on base, but two strikeouts ended the threat.
Cider Canon, who scored on Anderson's first home run, was the only other Wildcat with two hits.
Starting pitcher Cooper Cavanaugh threw five innings and struck out six.
Davidson fell to 17-24 overall and 4-10 in the A-10.
