‘Cats Fall at Saint Joseph’s in Regular Season Finale

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Despite a strong first half, Davidson suffered an 89-71 setback at Saint Joseph's to conclude the regular season Saturday afternoon inside Hagan Arena.
The Wildcats fall to 15-16 overall and 5-13 in league play, while the Hawks move to 19-12 and 9-9.
Reed Bailey bounced back with 19 points to lead the way for the 'Cats. Grant Huffman flirted with a triple-double stuffing the stat sheet with 15 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 3 steals in 36 minutes.
Davidson, which started 11-of-15 from the floor, grabbed an early 26-16 lead following a Connor Kochera trey. The Hawks would respond with a run of their own to go back in front, before the 'Cats scored the last six points of the half to lead 43-38 at the break.
Saint Joseph's grabbed control opening the second half with a 22-4 streak to retake the lead for good.
Rasheer Fleming and Erik Reynolds II paced the Hawks with 23 and 19 points, respectively.
After shooting 50 percent in the opening half, the Wildcats managed just a 10-of-33 effort in the second to conclude the game at 40.3 percent.

Davidson will head to Brooklyn, N.Y. for the 2024 Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Tournament. The tournament bracket will be announced later Saturday night.
