WILDCAT SCRATCHES
• Davidson enters the Atlantic 10 Championship at 15-16 overall and 5-13 in league play.
• Of the Wildcats' 13 conference losses, eight have come within five points or less. Three have been in overtime.
• In those eight losses, the 'Cats have been tied or held the lead over their opponent in the second half.
• Davidson, which enters the 15-team tournament as the #13 seed, will take on #12 Fordham in the first round at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.
• The Wildcats defeated Fordham twice this season, picking up a 79-69 win in the Bronx before downing the Rams 68-53 from inside Belk Arena.
• Since joining the Atlantic 10 in 2014-15, Davidson has won two regular season titles (2015, 2022), a tournament championship (2018), made three NCAA Tournaments (2015, 2018, 2022), totaled 104 league wins (10.4 per year) and made the A-10 Tournament semifinals in eight of the last nine years.
FIRST FIVE FAST FACTS
• Point guard Grant Huffman leads the 'Cats in scoring (12.9 ppg) and paces the Atlantic 10 with 5.3 assists per game. His 164 total assists is also good for first in the league (35th nationally), while the senior is averaging 13.6 points per game in conference play.
• Sophomore Reed Bailey is averaging 14.8 points per games against A-10 opponents and leads the way for the 'Cats with 5.8 rebounds per game.
• Connor Kochera is one of the most improved players in the Atlantic 10 this season, as the senior has improved in nearly every statistical categeory from last season to this: scoring (6.3 ppg ? 12.8), FG% (43.0 ? 49.3), 3PT FG% (34.3 ? 36.6), FT% (67.7 ? 78.1), rebounding (2.7 rpg ? 4.2).
• Sean Logan ranks seventh in the nation in block percentage (11.42) and 58th in total blocks (52). The sophomore is one of two A-10 athletes in the top-10, with Loyola Chicago's Miles Rubin leading the nation with a 14.30 block percentage.
• With 58 made threes this season, freshman Bobby Durkin ranks among the top-20 rookies nationally in three-point shooting.
PRIORITIES
• At the core of Matt McKillop's Wildcat teams is improved defensive metrics.
• This season, the 'Cats rank 66th in the nation (7th in A-10) in scoring defenses, allowing 67.8 points per game.
• According to KenPom, Davidson has the 78th best defense in the country. An impressive feat, considering the Wildcats faced the Atlantic 10's top-four offensive teams in the league in their final four games of the regular season.
• Big Man Sean Logan's length has become a key factor to Davidson's defense, as the sophomore leads the 'Cats with 52 blocks and 12 multi-block games this season.
• The sophomore set a new career high in single-game blocks, swatting 8 against UMass on March 2. It was the most blocks for a 'Cat since Luka Brajkovic earned five against Rhode Island in February 2019.
• As a team, the Wildcats ended with a season-high 13 blocks against the Minutemen, the most blocks for the program since blocking 11 shots against Hofstra in December 2009.
BETTER EVERY DAY
• One of the Wildcats' philosophies is to get better everyday, and Davidson has seen the fruits of that labor at the end of the year.
• Since 2003-04, the Wildcats own a 119-39 record in the month of February.
• Davidson is 54-36 in March during that time.
