Brown Tops 'Cats in Series Opener

With the loss, the Wildcats fell to 4-9, while Brown improved to 3-5.
Wilhoit's two-run blast in the seventh, followed by a Tyler Douglas RBI-single, cut the Brown lead to 7-6, but the Bears answered with seven runs in the eighth to regain control.
The Wildcats entered the ninth trailing 16-7 and made it interesting with six runs, including three on O'Shaughnessy's two-out blast to right that finalized the scoring.
Jacob Friend went 3-for-3 with two doubles and three walks, and Nick Calero also had three hits.
Jed Howard hit an RBI-triple in the third to start Davidson's scoring, and the Wildcats led 3-1 after three, but the Bears took over with a six-run fifth.
Starter Wilson Perkins (2-2) pitched the first 4.1 innings.
