With the loss, Davidson fell to 3-5, while Duke remained unbeaten at 8-0. The game ended after the top half of the seventh inning due to the 10-run mercy rule.
Jacob Friend and Eli Putnam hit singles in the third and sixth innings, respectively.
Duke's Ben Miller hit a two-run home run in the first inning, and Zac Morris homered in the second to make it 3-0. In the fifth, Logan Bravo's grand slam made it 12-0.
The Wildcats utilized nine pitchers. Making his college debut in the fourth, reliever Micah Baermann induced a double play on his first pitch.
