Bailey's Double-Double Leads 'Cats Past La Salle

DAVIDSON – Reed Bailey scored 22 points and matched his career-high with 12 rebounds as Davidson earned a 71-56 victory over La Salle Tuesday night inside John M. Belk Arena.
With the win, the Wildcats improve to 14-10 overall and 4-7 in league play.
In addition to Bailey's third 20-point effort in the last four games, Connor Kochera added 15 points, while Bobby Durkin and Grant Huffman had 10 each. Huffman also handed out seven assists for the 'Cats, who shot 51.7 percent after intermission.
After starting just 1-of-8 from the floor, Davidson started to settle in and used a 14-2 run, including six straight from Bailey, to go up 16-4.
The Wildcats, who led 28-20 at the break, broke the game open early in the second half with a 10-2 stretch to take their largest lead of the game, 38-22.
Davidson scored 44 points in the paint and finished with a 43-35 advantage on the glass.
Khalil Brantley paced La Salle with 16 points, while backcourt mate Daeshon Shepherd chipped in 14.

Davidson will head to Olean, N.Y., for a 3:30 p.m. nationally televised (CBSSN) contest at St. Bonaventure Saturday afternoon.
