Wildcats' Streak Ends at Seven With Loss to Fordham

DAVIDSON — Though it won its first Atlantic 10 Conference series, Davidson saw its seven-game win streak come to an end Sunday, as Fordham prevented a series sweep with a 6-4 victory at Wilson Field.
With the loss, the Wildcats are now 15-11 overall and 2-1 in A-10 play. The Rams improved to 12-16 and 1-2.
Peter DeMaria's two-run home run in the seventh put the Rams ahead 5-4, and they extended their lead in the eighth on Tommy McAndrews' RBI-single.
Ryan Wilson's three-run home run, his A-10 best 13th, gave the Wildcats the lead in the third inning, and after Fordham pulled even to 3-3 in the fourth, Henry Koehler's solo home run to right put the Wildcats back on top.
Jacob Peaden started and threw the first three innings, allowing just one hit and striking out four. After the Rams tied the game, AJ Pabst entered a bases-loaded, two-out jam and got the Wildcats out of it with a groundout to third to set up Koehler's go-ahead blast.
The Wildcats stranded two runners apiece in the eighth and ninth.
