Wilson, Wildcats Win Series Opener vs. TTU 9-5

The win is the third straight and fifth in the last six for the Wildcats, who improved to 11-10.
Wilson's first home run was a two-run shot to center in the first inning, which tied the Wildcats 2-2 with the Golden Eagles. His second blast was a solo shot in the fourth, which made it 7-2. He finished 3-for-5, also with an RBI-double in the second, and drove in four. Wilson entered Friday as the Atlantic 10 home run leader and now has 11.
Second baseman Jack Cotrone hit his eighth home run, a solo shot to center in the first, to put the Wildcats on top 3-2 and for good.
In the second, Nick Calero plated two runs with a single to left, preceding Wilson's RBI-double, and Davidson extended its lead to 9-2 with four hits in the fourth. Jacob Hinderleider and Michael O'Shaughnessy doubled after Wilson's home run, and Jacob Friend's RBI-single pushed the lead to seven.
Starting pitcher Will Schomberg (3-1) continued to set the tone from the rubber, throwing five innings, allowing four hits and one earned run and striking out five. Ed Hall (2.2 IP) and A.J. Pabst (1.1) took it from there.
