'Cats Head to Top-Seeded UMass Sunday

DAVIDSON, N.C. -- The Davidson women's basketball team will travel north to Massachusetts for a weekend tip with the Minutewomen on Sunday.

The Series
UMass women's basketball enters Sunday on an 11-game win streak after defeating first place Rhode Island in Kingston on Thursday night. The Minutewomen defeated the Rams 78-57 to move to 11-1 in A-10 play, as UMass and Rhody are now tied in first place in the league's standings. Four Minutewomen averaged 10+ points per game, led by Sam Breen's 17.3 points per game and 10.0 rebounds per game.
Last Time Out
Saint Joseph's torched the net at a 58 percent clip in Atlantic 10 women's basketball action on Wednesday night, defeating the Davidson Wildcats 72-56 inside Belk Arena. The Wildcats overcame a 10-2 deficit early in the first quarter with an 11-2 run to take their first lead of the day, 16-14, thanks to an Elle Sutphin layup. Trailing just 18-16 after one, the Hawks drained 4-of-5 three-point attempts and outscored Davidson 24-11 in the second quarter to create a 15-point lead by halftime.
Down the Stretch
Davidson's three remaining regular season games are against three of the top-five teams in the standings. After taking on No. 1 UMass on Sunday, the 'Cats will stay on the road for a trip to No. 5 George Washington next Wednesday and then host No. 4 Fordham on Saturday, Feb. 25 for Senior Day.
