Davidson Falls to Rhode Island in Conference Semifinals

HENRICO, Va. – Despite a 15-point, five rebound performance from Charlise Dunn, the Davidson College women's basketball team couldn't overcome top-seeded Rhode Island, falling 55–46 in Saturday morning's Atlantic 10 semifinal at the Henrico Sports and Events Center.
With the loss the Wildcats fall to 21-12 overall, while the Rams (27-4) move on to the conference finals to face the winner of Richmond vs. George Mason.
Dunn led the team in points while Kyra Bruyndoncx chipped in nine points and five rebounds off the bench.
Leading 29-25 at the half, the Wildcats had been shooting 42.9 percent from the field and had caused eight turnovers leading to 11 points. In the second half, the 'Cats' shooting went cold, shooting 28 percent from the floor and scoring just three field goals in the final quarter.
The Rams shot 41.7 percent from three and outrebounded the 'Cats 35-27. Albina Syla scored a game high 22 points for the Rams.
