DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson College women's basketball program announced Wednesday that Dean Lockley has joined the coaching staff as an assistant coach and director of player development, bringing with him extensive collegiate and international experience as both a player and coach.
Lockley will primarily be responsible for assisting with on-court player development, scouting operations and administrative duties.
"We are excited to add Dean to our coaching staff," said head coach Gayle Fulks. "We strive to be a program that is the best at getting better. Having Dean with us to assist us in on- and off-court player development systems will be incredibly valuable in helping us efficiently make our players better."
Lockley comes to Davidson after gaining experience in player development and basketball operations through his work with the Tandem Friends School boys' basketball program. In that role, he assisted with player development while working alongside the athletic department.
A native of Virginia, Lockley played collegiately at Radford University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration in 2025. During his time as a member of the men's basketball program, he developed a focused interest in player development, basketball operations and the business side of athletics.
Following his collegiate career, Lockley played professionally overseas, competing in Asia in the Thailand Elite Basketball Association (TEBA).
