'Cats Will Open 2024 Season Feb. 16 Against Morehead State

Davidson's 2024 baseball season will commence on Friday, Feb. 16 when the Wildcats open a home series against Morehead State, coach Rucker Taylor announced Friday.
Thirty-two of the 54 scheduled games are set for Wilson Field, including 13 of the Wildcats' first 16.
Along with reigning Atlantic 10 Conference champion George Mason, three other 2023 postseason teams are on the schedule, including NCAA Super Regional teams Duke and South Carolina. The Wildcats will also resume their long-dormant rivalry with Charlotte and are set to play two games against the 49ers, who reached the NCAA Regionals.
The Wildcats will host non-conference series against Villanova, Penn State, Brown and Siena.
The 24-game Atlantic 10 schedule begins March 28, when the Wildcats welcome Saint Joseph's to Wilson Field. The Wildcats will also host three-game A-10 series against Richmond (April 19-21), Rhode Island (May 3-5) and St. Bonaventure (May 9-11).
Also in league play, Davidson will visit VCU (April 5-7), Saint Louis (April 12-14), Dayton (April 26-28) and George Mason (May 16-18).
The A-10 Tournament will be held May 21-25 at the new Capital One Park in Tysons, Va., with the NCAA Regionals beginning May 31.
