Wildcats Take Loss at Georgia State

ATLANTA — Georgia State scored in the 16th minute and got an insurance goal late to defeat Davidson 2-0 in women's soccer Sunday afternoon.
Both teams are now 2-2.
Davidson totaled six shots to Georgia State's eight, with two each coming from Sophia Caruso and Aleia Gisolfi-McCready. Emma Nguyen was credited with Davidson's lone shot on goal, and coach Adam Denton really liked what he saw from his team to start the second half.
"We continued to work and created some opportunities," said Denton. "Not a complete performance, but it was a performance we felt we did well in periods against a very athletic team."
Grace Kiser gave the Panthers their 1-0 lead in the first half, and Eva Diez struck in the 66th minute to complete the scoring.

The Wildcats will host Western Carolina at Alumni Stadium on Thursday, Sept. 2, which will complete a stretch of four home games in five contests to start the season. From there, the Wildcats will play their next four and six of seven on the road.
