DAVIDSON –
Playing their second game in 18 hours, the Davidson Wildcats hit the century mark for the first time this year and raced by Johnson and Wales (Charlotte) 106-64 Wednesday afternoon in Belk Arena.

Originally scheduled to play Loyola Chicago University, the Wildcats posted their ninth straight win a day after beating No. 10 Alabama 79-78 in Birmingham.

Davidson, which led throughout and 48-23 at the break, shot 57.3 percent (43-of-75) from the field and 42.4 percent (14-of-33) from long range.

While Hyunjung Lee scored 12 points to lead the starters, Davidson reserves carried the weight. David Kristensen scored a career-high 16 points, while freshmen Chris Ford and Styrmir Thrastarson turned in their top performances to date. Ford had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Thrastarson scored 12 points.

In all, 11 Wildcats played double-digit minutes, with only Desmond Watson playing more than 20 (21).

The Wildcats scored 15 of the game's first 18 points, including 12 straight, and never trailed. Davidson also put together 12-2 and 15-3 first-half spurts.

Fred Patterson and Anthoney Ray scored 16 and 15, respectively, to lead JWU.
