DAVIDSON — Foster Loyer scored a game-high 24 points and helped the Davidson Wildcats stay on course during a 74-54 win over Radford Saturday afternoon in Belk Arena.
It's the seventh straight victory for the Wildcats, who are now 8-2.
Loyer hit the 20-point mark for the third time this season, having scored 29 in his Davidson debut against Delaware on Nov. 9 and 35 at Northeastern last weekend.
Saturday, he scored 15 points in the first 20 minutes, including eight straight to help the Wildcats build their largest first-half lead at 30-15 with 5:54 to play before the intermission.
Loyer was also key in helping the Wildcats answer a Radford challenge late in the half. After the Highlanders trimmed the lead to 32-30, Loyer hit a 3-pointer and two free throws as part of a 7-0 run to end the first 20 minutes.
Leading 39-30 at the break, the Wildcats continued that surge, ultimately leading 59-39 with 11:39 to play after a 27-9 run spanning both halves.
Davidson scored 14 of the game's first 17 points, including nine straight, and shot 55.1 percent from the field (27-of-49) to continue its hot shooting.
Michael Jones added 15 points, while Hyunjung Lee scored 14 and Luka Brajkovic chipped in with 12.
Shaquan Jules and Bryan Hart scored 12 apiece to lead Radford.

In a recent addition to the schedule, the Wildcats will travel to Birmingham, Ala., to face No. 6/8 Alabama on Tuesday night in the CM Newton Classic at 7 p.m. (ET) / 6 p.m. (CT).
