DAVIDSON — The Davidson volleyball team will hold its final two home matches of the season this weekend, as the Wildcats look to stay in the hunt for an Atlantic 10 Tournament berth with six dates left on the schedule.
Â
Davidson (9-12, 4-4 A-10) will host George Washington Friday at 4:30 p.m., then welcome George Mason on Senior Day Sunday at 1 p.m. It's the only scheduled meetings of the year with the Colonials and Patriots.
Â
"This is a bittersweet weekend as we host the last matches of the year and honor our seniors," said 'Cats coach Chris Willis. "We've put ourselves in a good position for the A-10 Tournament. Our job is to work hard, get better and focus on what we can control. George Washington and George Mason are very talented, and we need to be at our best to be successful. I'm also looking forward to honoring our seniors as they play their last matches in front of our home crowd. They've been amazing scholar-athletes and have represented our program in a first-class manner."
Â
Last weekend, Davidson went 1-1 in league play, falling 3-1 at La Salle on Oct. 25 and winning 3-0 at Duquesne two days later.
Â
The Davidson roster features four seniors — Elise Edman, Emily Kane, Emma McLaughlin and Josie Treadwell — who will be honored prior to Sunday's match.
Â
