Last Time Out
• Forward Luka Brajkovic had a double-double and guard Jon Axel Gudmundsson scored a game-high 21 points to lead Davidson in a 67-63 loss to Wake Forest in Joel Coliseum Monday night.
• Both scored buckets to help Davidson trim a nine-point halftime deficit to three early in the second half, but the Wildcats could get no closer in the teams' first meeting in 19 seasons.
• Brajkovic, a freshman from Austria, finished with season-highs of 19 points and 14 boards for his second career double-double (17 points, 11 rebounds vs. Northeastern on Nov. 18), while Gudmundsson scored at least 20 points for the sixth time this year.
• The Deacons shot 70 percent (7-of-10) from 3-point range in the first 20 minutes to build a 33-24 lead at the break and led 27-13 with 8:40 left in the first half after a 9-0 run.
• Davidson opened the second half with three straight buckets – completing an 8-0 run that began in the first half – to pull within 33-30, but Wake Forest answered with a 7-0 run. Davidson got within four, 50-46, at the 7:01 mark, but again the Deacons answered, this time with a 6-0 spurt. A Brajkovic layup with three seconds left again cut it to four and finalized the scoring.
