CHARLESTON, S.C. – Carsen Edwards scored a game-high 29 points to lead No. 23 Purdue past Davidson, 79-58, in the semifinals of the 2018 Charleston Classic Friday at TD Arena.
 
The Wildcats will play Northeastern in the 3rd place game Sunday at 6:00 p.m. on ESPNU. These two teams will also meet in a non-bracketed contest on Nov. 24 inside Belk Arena.
 
Despite the setback, Kellan Grady led Davidson (3-1) with 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting. Carter Collins added a personal-best 9 points in 22 minutes off the bench.
 
Ryan Cline (12), Evan Boudreaux (12) and Matt Haarms (10) also scored in double figures for the Boilermakers, who hit 13 3-pointers and finished with a 45-28 advantage on the glass.
 
In addition, Purdue (4-0) hauled in 18 boards on the offensive end, turning them into 18 second-chance points.
 
Davidson hit 10 3-pointers and shot 44.2 percent overall, while holding the Boilermakers to 41.8 percent.
 
Purdue, which led 33-26 at the break, got 16 points from Edwards in the first half.
 
The Boilermakers opened the second half on a 14-4 spurt and eventually pushed the margin to as many as 24 with 3:48 to play.
