THE SERIES

LAST TIME OUT | Box Score (PDF)
The Wildcats took a 13-7 lead in the second quarter off a 60-yard Cam Cheuvront touchdown reception, but the 'Cats fell in the second half of their PFL opener at Valparaiso, 24-20. Cheuvront scored twice on the day and caught seven passes for a career-high 135 yards. Junior quarterback Taylor Mitchell completed 18-of-31 passes for 203 yards and two scoring tosses to Cheuvront. Sophomore linebacker Boo Jordan made five tackles, four of them solo stops, and registered 1.5 sacks for 31 yards loss. WE JAMMIN'
The Wildcat front line has allowed opponents the fewest rushing yards of any team in the league over the first four games. The 'Cat defense is holding opponents to a league-low 116.0 yards-per-game on the ground. Davidson also leads the league in sacks with 13, led by Boo Jordan's 5.0. Nine Wildcats in all have gotten to the quarterback in the backfield this season. Senior corner Jaylen Mize leads the squad with 23 tackles.
Senior defensive lineman and captain Grant Polofsky sat down with Mark Plemmons in this week's edition of the Davidson Football Player Spotlight.

Junior Ben Rowell earned a nod on the FBGP.com Preseason All-America third team as a specialist. Rowell returned 17 kicks last season for an average of 28.4 yards per return. He was named to the All-PFL second team last season as a specialist.
MUELLER NAMED TO PRESEASON ALL-PFL TEAM
For the first time in PFL history, the league named long snappers to the Preseason All-League team with Davidson junior Conrad Mueller making the grade. Mueller, along with Butler's Connor Aranas, were honored with this distinction back in July's release.
