BUIES CREEK, N.C. - The Wildcats (2-7, 0-6 PFL) take their final road trip of the 2016 slate when they travel across the state to Campbell (3-4, 1-3 PFL) for a Pioneer Football League clash. Kickoff with the Camels is slated for 4 p.m. from Barker-Lane Stadium.

THE SERIES
The 'Cats took the first three meetings all-time starting with the first tilt in 2008, but the Camels have taken 4-of-5 since to knot the series at four wins apiece. Davidson boasts a 3-1 record in Buies Creek and last did so in 2012 with a 28-21 win.

Davidson trailed just 14-10 heading into halftime, but Jacksonville came firing out of the break and cruised to a 35-17 win at Richardson Stadium last Saturday. Junior wide receiver Jaris Scott had his best day as a Wildcat, catching six passes for 190 yards including a 73-yard touchdown grab. Freshman quarterback Stockton McGuire completed 13-of-29 passes for 225 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Fellow rookie George Hatalowich made a career-best 11 tackles, eight of the solo stops.

Junior wide receiver Jaris Scott had a career day against Jacksonville, catching six balls for 190 yards. Scott picked up major yards on two receptions, catching a 73-yard TD pass down the middle of the field and helping setup a Trevor Smith field goal with a 51-yard catch in the second quarter. It is the second 100-yard game of his career - the first came back in the season opener at Georgetown.
HONORARY CAPTAIN - WILLIAM MORRIS '16
The honorary captain for this weekend's game at Campbell will be recent graduate, William Morris. Morris left Davidson after season as one of the most prolific receivers in program history. The Dallas, Texas, native leads the Wildcats all-time in career receptions (237), reception yards (3,200) and holds the single-season reception mark (1,224). Morris was a PFL All-Conference first team selection in 2014 and 2015.

ROWELL LANDS ON FOOTBALLGAMEPLAN.COM PRESEASON ALL-AMERICA TEAM
Junior Ben Rowell earned a nod on the FBGP.com Preseason All-America third team as a specialist. Rowell returned 17 kicks last season for an average of 28.4 yards per return. He was named to the All-PFL second team last season as a specialist.
MUELLER NAMED TO PRESEASON ALL-PFL TEAM
For the first time in PFL history, the league named long snappers to the Preseason All-League team with Davidson junior Conrad Mueller making the grade. Mueller, along with Butler's Connor Aranas, were honored with this distinction back in July's release.
NEW ADDITIONS TO THE STAFF
Head Coach Paul Nichols was busy in the offseason revamping the Wildcat coaching staff, bringing in seven new members to the team. Assistant Head and Defensive Line Coach Ray McCartney (Guilford, '80) returns to North Carolina after spending two seasons at Army West Point. Prior to his tenure with the Black Knights, McCartney roamed the sidelines at Wake Forest for 13 seasons as defensive line coach, helping lead the Demon Deacons to five bowl games. Vinny Marino (Connecticut, '92) enters his first season as Offensive Coordinator after spending two seasons as Assistant Director of Player Personnel at Boston College. Also joining the staff; Special Teams Coordinator and Running Backs Coach Mario Price (Baylor, '07), Offensive Line Coach Matt Applebaum (Connecticut, '07), Safeties Coach Justin Hood (Ashland, 08), Cornerbacks Coach Sean Fisher (Mount Union, '08) and Tight Ends Coach Phil Trautwein (Florida, '07). Trautwein spent time with Marino as a graduate assistant with the Eagles.
