LAST TIME OUT | Box Score (PDF)
Davidson took a 21-10 lead into the fourth quarter, but Kegan Moore's three late touchdowns up-ended the 'Cats last Saturday, 31-27. Freshman Stockton McGuire was a major factor in the early game success, rushing for a career-high 102 yards off 11 carries and a touchdown. The rookie kept it for 72 yards on the second play of the third and took it all the way to the goal to break open the game. He finished 12-of-31 for 130 yards and two touchdowns through the air. The Wildcats lost despite turning the Hatters over five times, including three break ups from senior defensive back Jaylen Mize. Mize showed his athleticism on three plays, forcing two fumbles and snagging a batted ball in the back of the endzone for his second interception of the season.
#TRENDINGNOW
Senior defensive back Jaylen Mize turned over Stetson three times last week. The Buford, Ga., native forced a pair of fumbles and intercepted his second pass of the season.
NATIONAL ATTENTION
With Stockton McGuire's recognition as a STATS FCS National Freshman of the Week honorable mention, it marks the second 'Cat to earn this distinction in 2016. Running back Keylan Brown made the list for his 95-yard, one touchdown performance at Kentucky Wesleyan back in week two.
