DAVIDSON, N.C.
– In addition to DeShawn Jones rushing for 201 yards and three scores, Campbell totaled 313 yards on the ground as the Camels defeated Davidson, 39-9, in Pioneer Football League action Saturday afternoon at Richardson Stadium.

Jones set a school record for yards in a game and did it on just 19 carries. Campbell's 313 total rushing yards came on 45 totes for the game.

Campbell's quarterback Kameron Bryant was very efficient through the air, finishing 15-for-18 for 195 yards and a touchdown. He completed a 40-yard strike to Aaron Blockmon for his longest pass of the day. Blockmon led the Camel receivers with 76 yards on four catches.

Davidson's William Morris had a game-high 11 grabs for 164 yards and a touchdown, which came on a 41-yard pass from Taylor Mitchell in the third quarter that got the Wildcats to within eight points, 17-9, and 11:24 left in the quarter.

Mitchell finished the afternoon 18-of-36 for 246 yards with an interception.

The 'Cats had a hard time finding any momentum on the ground as they were held to just three yards rushing on 23 attempts.

Campbell raced out to a 17-0 lead in the first half. The Camels recorded two rushing touchdowns, including a 51-yard rush from Jones at the start of the second quarter. Jones ended the first half with 110 of his 201 yards rushing.

Davidson was held to just 105 yards in the first half, while Campbell's Bryant completed 10 of his 13 passes for 107 yards in the first 30 minutes.

The 'Cats started the second half forcing a Camel fumble that led to a 41-yard touchdown pass to Morris and cut the lead to 17-9. But, Campbell quickly snapped the Davidson momentum with a 59-yard TD run by Jones the series after.

Campbell capped off the contest with two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, which featured a two-point conversion.

The Wildcats will be back in action next Saturday, Nov. 7 when they travel to Jacksonville at 1 p.m.
