DAVIDSON, N.C. — Coming off a tie last Sunday, Davidson will play host to William & Mary Thursday under the lights at Alumni Stadium in women's soccer, before heading a few miles down the road to face the Charlotte 49ers Sunday evening.

The Matchup
Davidson (3-4-1) concludes a two-game homestand with a Thursday evening matchup against William & Mary. The 'Cats then travel Sunday evening down Interstate 77 to face cross-county rival Charlotte. All women's soccer games are free admission.

The All-Time Series/Last Meetings
The Wildcats and Tribe have played twice since 1990, with W&M holding a 2-0 edge. Both teams played each other in 2012, with Davidson falling on the road 3-0. The series vs. Charlotte dates back to 1994. Despite trailing in the series, 5-11-2, the 'Cats are 2-0-1 in the last three meetings, including a 1-0 double-overtime victory last year at home.

Scouting the Wildcats
Davidson (3-4-1) regrouped after a 1-0 defeat last Thursday at Liberty to earn its first tie of the season in a scoreless draw Sunday vs. Georgia State ... the two teams were meeting for just the second time ... the shutout was the Wildcats third of the year ... they have a 2-2-1 record at home ... Davidson is 3-0 when leading at the break ... Vicky Bruce paces the offense with a team-best five points on two goals and an assist ... Becca Fisher has a team-high two assists ... goalkeeper Rachel Locke leads the Atlantic 10 with 45 saves, giving her 279 for her career ... she is currently fourth all-time in Wildcat record books in saves and shutouts with 17 ... Locke owns 22 career wins ... head coach Greg Ashton won his 175th career game, 104th at Davidson, two Sundays ago in a  victory at Coastal Carolina ... he is 15 wins away from becoming the program's all-time winningest coach ... Davidson is playing its first year in the Atlantic 10 after a 20-year run in the SoCon (116-58-30, three regular season titles and four tournament titles) ... the Wildcats return 16 letterwinners, including eight starters ... the Wildcats were picked to finish 12th in their first year in the Atlantic 10.

Scouting the Tribe
William & Mary (4-1-1) pushed its unbeaten streak to four games with a 3-0 shutout win at Penn last Sunday ... the Tribe has also defeated Richmond (4-1), N.C. State (2-1) and tied La Salle (3-3) during the streak ... in Sunday's win, three different players scored a goal ... W&M is 2-1 on the road this year ... Aly Shaughessy, Samantha Cordum and Rachel Moore have seven points apiece to pace the team ... Shaughessy was named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week Monday after a three-goal outing last week ... goalkeeper Caroline Casey has started all six games, with a 1.43 goals against average and 27 saves ... the Tribe went 8-2-7 last year and 5-1-2 in the CAA ... they were picked third in this year's preseason coaches poll ... they own 10 CAA Championships, while making 24 NCAA Tournament Appearances ... W&M has also had an NCAA record 33 straight winning seasons ... head coach John Daly owns a career record of 373-148-49.

Scouting the 49ers
Charlotte (1-3-1), which plays its home opener Wednesday vs. Winthrop, is coming off a 1-1 tie at Clemson, Sept. 7 ... it was the 49ers' third overtime game ... they opened the year on the road for the first five games ... Martha Thomas scored the lone goal at Clemson ... she along with Perri Bonner each have two goals to pace the offense ... in goal, Annika McHenry has started all five games, with a 1.46 goals against average and 31 saves ... Charlotte returns 20 letterwinners and eight starters ... it was tabbed the Conference USA preseason favorite after going 11-7-2 and 5-3-2 in the league ... the 49ers won the East Division last year and reached the semifinals of the league tournament ... Monica Trickett was tabbed preseason C-USA Defender of the Year.
