‘Cats Rally in Second Half, Draw Fordham 2-2

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Second half goals from Dakota Lyons and SJ Pak allowed the Davidson women's soccer team to erase a two-goal deficit and earn a 2-2 tie against Fordham on Sunday afternoon at Alumni Stadium.
The Wildcats and Rams split the points, and both move to 2-2-1 in conference play. Davidson now holds a 6-4-2 record on the 2025 campaign.
Fordham was the aggressor early in the contest, scoring on a breakaway goal in the 14th minute. They added a goal right before the halftime break as Riley Carol was left unmarked in the Davidson box, putting the Wildcats in a 2-0 hole.
The game flipped in the second half with the 'Cats going on the offensive, putting up 12 shots compared to seven in the first half. Pak opened the scoring for Davidson, scoring a beautiful goal from a tough angle to cut the Rams lead in half.
Lyons struck in the 74th minute to equalize, receiving a pass at the top of the Fordham box from Sophia Whiddon. Lyons tallied three points on the afternoon with the goal and an assist on Paks goal. Whiddon leads the team with 11 points while Lyons is second with eight on the season.
Overall, the Wildcats outshot the Rams 19-14, with both teams putting six shots on goals. Both goalkeepers tallied four saves on the afternoon.

The Wildcats are back in action next Sunday, Oct. 12 when they travel to Rhode Island for a noon kickoff.
