DAVIDSON, N.C. – One week removed from a thrilling overtime win over Appalachian State, the Davidson field hockey team is back in action at Belk Turf Field, hosting the Dukes of James Madison in a Friday evening contest. The match is slated for 6:30 p.m.
SERIES HISTORY
The 2013 season marks the fourth all-time meeting between the two teams since 1980. The Wildcats are 1-4 in the series, with their lone win thus far coming in 1992 when they defeated the Dukes 1-0 in Davidson. JMU took last season's contest by a score of 1-0 in Harrisonburg, Va.
SCOUTING THE DUKES
JMU enters the match with a 7-6 overall mark and a 1-2 CAA record. The Dukes defeated NorPac member Radford 6-0 last week and previously downed Appalachian State 7-0 in September. The squad is led by Taylor West, who boasts 13 goals and four assists for a total of 30 points, and Taylor Bailey, who has five goals and four assists for 14 points as the Dukes average 3.31 goals per game.
