
Ohio State Snaps Wildcats' Six-Game Win Streak, 15-5

COLUMBUS, Ohio –– The Davidson women's lacrosse team saw their school-best six-game winning streak come to an end when Ohio State placed four players in the books with at least two goals on its way to a 15-5 non-conference win over the Wildcats on Sunday afternoon.
Davidson, who had won its past six straight and nine of its last 10 games, fell to 10-4 on the year, while the Buckeyes ran their overall mark to 8-6.
Sophomore Haley Cook led the Wildcat attack with two goals, each coming in the first period, and added an assist for three points on the afternoon.
Kelly Haggerty of Ohio State led the four players with multiple goals by finding the back of the net three times and also tallied an assist. Kristen Slahor, Brittney Zerhusen and Jessica Patane each scored two goals apiece. Slahor assisted on seven of the Buckeyes' 15 goals on the afternoon to close with nine points.
Cook's second goal of the game came at the 21:44 mark to bring the 'Cats within two at 4-2 in the first half.
Then shortly after another Buckeye goal, the senior duo of Sarah Walter and Emily Palmer brought Davidson to within one goal, 5-4, when they scored back-to-back goals, with Cook assisting on Palmer's score, and 16 minutes left in the opening half.
Leading by three (7-4) to start the second half, Ohio State put the game out of reach with three goals in the first eight minutes of the second half. The Buckeyes then closed out the game with five straight goals in the final 15 minutes for the 15-5 win.
Junior Becky Horton scored the Wildcats' lone second half goal, her 28th score of the season.
In goal, senior Laura Johnson came up with 13 stops, the fourth time this season she has picked up double-digit saves.
Davidson continues its three-game road trip with a stop at Louisville on Apr. 20 for a 12 p.m. game.
