CHARLESTON, S.C.
-- Stephen Curry hit the 20-point plateau for the 13th time this season with a game-high 28 points as the Davidson Wildcats ran their SoCon regular season streak to 20 with an 87-70 victory at The Citadel Thursday evening at McAlister Field House.

The triumph was also the eighth straight for the 'Cats as they improve to 12-6 overall and remain unbeaten in league play moving to 10-0, while the Bulldogs fall to 5-13 and 0-9.

Curry, the nation's fifth leading scorer and Preseason SoCon Player of the Year, drilled 10 of his 17 attempts from the floor and made five of Davidson's eight buckets from downtown to hit double figures for the 46th consecutive contest.

The Wildcats' starting frontcourt of Andrew Lovedale and Thomas Sander also added double digits with 13 and 12, respectively. Senior Jason Richards posted nine points and eight assists, while classmate Boris Meno collected nine points and led all players with nine rebounds off the bench.

Curry recorded 18 points in the opening period, including 15 of the Wildcats' first 22 as they stretched their advantage to as many as 13 before heading to the break up, 41-33.

Davidson torched the nets in the first half shooting 63.0 percent (17-of-27), but The Citadel wasn't far behind connecting on 54.2 percent of its attempts including 5-of-10 from behind the arc.

The Citadel cut the deficit to just six (41-35) with a jumper from Cameron Wells to begin the second half, but the Wildcats responded with a 19-7 run capped off by a Curry trey to stretch the margin to 60-42 with 12:16 left.

Davidson's lead reached 25 points on three separate occasions with under four minutes to play.

Austin Dahn led three Bulldogs in double figures with 19 points, while both Wells and Jon Brick finished with 13.

Davidson continued its hot shooting in the final stanza to conclude the evening at 59.6 percent (34-of-57) from the field and 8-of-20 (40.0 percent) from three-point range. The host Bulldogs finished with a 50.0 percent clip despite dropping their 13th straight contest to the 'Cats and seventh overall.

Both clubs grabbed 11 board in the first half, but it was the Wildcats that held the edge in the second half to control the glass, 31-22.

Davidson concludes its three-game road trip with a televised contest at College of Charleston Saturday. The 5 p.m. tip with the Cougars will air on SportSouth. The Citadel will entertain UNC Greensboro Jan. 26 at 2 p.m.
