Former Wildcat Hyunjung Lee Signs Exhibit 10 Deal With Portland Trail Blazers

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Former Wildcat standout Hyunjung Lee signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the NBA's Portland Trail Blazers, his agency, Epic Sports, announced. An Exhibit 10 deal is a one-year, non-guaranteed agreement and will bring Lee to training camp where he'll have the opportunity to compete for a roster spot.
An Exhibit 10 contract can also be converted into a two-way deal, while Lee could receive a bonus if he is waived and subsequently join Portland's G League affiliate, the Rip City Remix.
"Since Lee finished his career at Davidson, he has woken up every day thinking about what he needs to do to make it to the NBA," said head coach Matt McKillop. "I was ecstatic when I heard he had a few opportunities, and I'm thrilled that he has this chance with the Trail Blazers."
Lee, who played three seasons at Davidson (2019-2022), most recently had an opportunity with the NBA's San Antonio Spurs in the 2026 Summer League. The South Korea native also played in 12 games for the Santa Cruz Warriors, G League affiliate of the Golden State Warriors, during the 2022-2023 season. Earlier this year, he played for Nagasaki Velca in Japan and was a part of the first-ever B.LEAGUE Championship team.
"Having watched him play internationally and in the NBA Summer League, it's clear that the work he has put in since leaving Davidson has prepared him for this opportunity," added Coach Matt McKillop. "His consistency in the weight room has allowed him to add the strength, physicality, and the athleticism necessary to compete at the NBA level. His feel and understanding of the game have always set him apart, but the added strength, improved foot speed, and athleticism are a big reason he has earned this opportunity with Portland."
During the 2020-21 campaign at Davidson, Lee became the first-ever Wildcat to conclude a season shooting at least 50 percent from the floor, 40 percent from three-point range, and 90 percent at the free-throw line. He was also a part of Davidson's NCAA Tournament team during the 2021-22 season.
"Lee was constantly looking for small ways to improve every part of his game while at Davidson," explained Coach McKillop. "He was obviously a tremendous shooting threat, but he was also a terrific passer and exceptional at moving without the ball. He consistently made the right play for our team. He was completely selfless in everything he did, and that's a big part of what made him such a special player to coach."
