Wildcats Drop Week Two Contest at Elon

The setback drops the Wildcats to 0-2 on the young season. Elon improves to 1-1 overall.
In a game delayed two hours due severe weather, the Phoenix finished with 547 total yards, including 289 on the ground. In addition, Elon limited Davidson to just 158 yards.
The Wildcats' lone score came on a 25-yard pass from Coulter Cleland to fellow senior Ivan Hoyt, capping a 9-play, 62-yard drive early in the third quarter.
Landyn Backey was on the other end of five Clark passes for 118 receiving yards and two scores.
Despite the loss, Robert Lamar and Tre Johnson put together strong efforts on the defensive side of the ball with 14 and 12 tackles, respectively.
Up Next
Davidson will conclude its two-game stretch away from home next Saturday at nationally-ranked Tennessee Tech.
