Wildcats Host Longwood Friday Night

The Davidson field hockey team is back in action Friday when it hosts Longwood at 5 p.m. at Carol Grotnes Belk Turf Field.
It's the Wildcats' second home game and the first in a stretch of playing three of four at home.
LATEST ON THE 'CATS
• Davidson enters 1-3, which includes, most notably, a 6-1 win over Towson on Aug. 31 and a 2-1 double-overtime loss to No. 20 Wake Forest on Sept. 5.
• Sib Naaktgeboren leads the Wildcats with four goals, all of which she scored on a career-best day against Towson.
• Lourdes Wolf and Emelia Little have each contributed five points, including two goals and one assist apiece.
• Matilda Collins, Ava Mickel and Eva van der Kooi have also scored Wildcat goals.
• Collins and Liv Goeke lead the way with two defensive saves each.

• Longwood comes to town with a 1-3 record.
• That includes a 3-1 win over Queens on Aug. 31 and losses to Richmond, Lafayette and Wake Forest.
• Longwood is led by goalkeeper Sophie Mooldijk, who was named MAC Goalkeeper of the Year as a freshman last season.
• Hailey Flick, Channy Johnson and Madison Wiley have scored for the Lancers.
• Longwood has won the last 13 meetings in the series, including 2-1 last season thanks to a game-winning penalty stroke with eight seconds remaining.
