Third-Quarter Run Leads ‘Cats Past Ohio, 64-59

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Charlise Dunn stuffed the stat sheet with 17 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks and Davidson used a lengthy third-quarter run to defeat Ohio, 64-59, in non-conference women's basketball action Sunday afternoon from inside John M. Belk Arena.
With the win, the Wildcats improve to 5-3, while the Bobcats fall to 3-3.
After Ohio went in front 36-33 with five straight to start the third, the 'Cats responded with a 20-3 streak to go in front for good.
In a first half that included 8 ties, 12 lead changes and 22 combined turnovers, Sylvie Jackson's putback at the buzzer gave Davidson a 33-31 lead at the break.
Despite shooting just 31.6 percent from the floor, the Wildcats went 20-of-23 from the charity stripe and finished with a commanding 46-26 advantage on the glass.
Katie Donovan and Kyra Bruyndoncx also scored in double figures for the Wildcats with 16 and 15 points, respectively.
Bella Ranallo led the way for Ohio with 15 points and 6 rebounds.

Davidson will continue its homestand Wednesday evening when Duquesne visits to open Atlantic 10 play at 7 p.m.
