'Cats Fall to Dayton on Senior Day

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Dayton turned three turnovers into 21 points as part of a 42-14 victory over Davidson in Pioneer Football League action Saturday afternoon at Field 76 and Davidson College Stadium.
With the setback, the Wildcats conclude the 2025 season 2-10 overall and 1-7 in league play, while the Flyers finish 7-4 and 5-3.
A pair of Josh Williams' first-quarter interceptions, including a 32-yard pick-six, helped Dayton to a 13-0 halftime advantage.
The Flyers pushed the lead to 35-0 late in the third to all but put the game out of reach.
Despite the loss, running back Mari Adams, one of the program's most prolific rushers, finished the game with 75 yards on nine carries.
Davidson's first score came five seconds into the fourth quarter when Coulter Cleland found wide receiver Ivan Hoyt for the senior's league-leading 10th touchdown reception of the season.
After Jamal Chandler-Fuller's first career interception, Cleland hooked up with tight end Langston Green on a 17-yard touchdown pass to cut the deficit to 35-14 with 10:25 to play.
Freshman Hayden Meese also recorded his first interception for the Wildcats late in the fourth.
In all, Davidson forced a season-high four turnovers of its own.
